If you are a devoted gardener, you are most likely to always be on the look-out for new creative gardening gadgets and crafts. Here are the three useful ideas on how you can recycle old used things into something awesome for your garden.

I hope these projects will get you inspired and you’ll share more DIY ideas like these!

1. Wine Bottles into Garden Borders

I am not sure how many wine bottles one might have at home but this tip might come in handy when you have a large event like wedding or anniversary planned. We usually have lots of empty wine bottles after such a celebration and we always wonder what’s the best way to deal with them.

So here’s a great idea: use empty wine bottles to create stylish garden borders. The beauty of this idea is that these borders will last for as long as you need and they look nice too! You can also arrange the borders any form you may fancy, like a star on the photo above.

2. A CD Case into a Garden Cloche

If you have a teen at home, you are most likely to have lots of these CD cases which are hardly ever used as we use CDs less often nowadays. Use this case as a mini-greenhouse!

Those young little plants are so tender and vulnerable. It will protect your seedlings from spring snowfalls and cold days and even garden pests. If days are too hot, you can place the CD cases over your young plants during the nights when the temperature dips.

Hat tip to Our Every Day Earth and here are even more ideas on creating free garden cloches.

3. A Plastic Bottle into a Sprinkler

Plastic bottles are everywhere. We have at least one emptied daily. And while it is quite clear how to recycle the bottles, using some of them creatively might be also fun. Here’s a detailed guide on how to upcycle one plastic bottle and 15 used ball point pens into a handy (and almost free!) DIY sprinkler.

It’s not the only way to re-use plastic bottles in gardening. Here’s a great guide on how to create a Greenhouse of plastic bottles. It’s a bit more complicated and requires much more bottles, but what a great idea, isn’t it?

They are great ideas!  I am quite inspired by the sprinkler … although the garden cloche is looking like an extra good idea after a few days of snow …
